Canon EOS 350D and Windows 7 compatibility.
Just a quick note - a reminder to myself as much as anyone. If you’re having trouble getting a PC running Windows 7 to recognise a Canon Eos 350D camera, there is a solution.
The way I did things was to install the Vista USB camera driver from Canon. It installed happily, but didn’t work. Oodles of googling turned up nothing, and then almost by accident I found this post

It was for Windows 7 64 bit, but out of desperation I tried it anyway.
So, simply go to your canon camera menu, and change the communication method from PC to the other one (can’t check on the camera as the battery is recharging). There are only two choices.
Simple as that, and it will autoplay and be explorable in My Computer.
